How can we help you?
Answers to the most common questions.
Install and launch
How do I install the app?
Download the file, open it, then drag TuneInspect into the Applications folder. Then open the app from Applications. If macOS asks for confirmation because the app comes from the Internet, click “Open”.
macOS asks for my password on first launch.
That's normal: TuneInspect stores your connections in the macOS keychain to protect them. Enter your Mac session password and choose “Always Allow”.
Which macOS version do I need?
macOS 12 or later, on Intel or Apple Silicon Macs. A Windows version is planned.
Is the app safe?
It's signed with an Apple certificate and notarized by Apple. Your audio files never leave your computer.
Account and trial
How do I start the free trial?
Create an account, confirm your email address, then click “Start my 7-day trial”. It never starts on its own and needs no credit card.
I didn't receive the confirmation email.
Check your spam folder, then request a new one from the app. Temporary email addresses are not accepted.
How does the referral work?
In “My account”, copy your invitation code. When a friend starts their trial with your code, you each get 7 more days. A friend can also enter the code after starting their trial.
Only one trial per person?
Yes: one trial per email address and per computer.
How do I delete my account?
In “My account”, button “Delete my account”. Your local data tied to this account is erased too.
Library and playlists
Which files are read?
MP3, AAC / M4A, FLAC, WAV and AIFF. TuneInspect reads the artist and title from the files' tags, or otherwise from the file name “Artist - Title”.
How do I import a playlist?
Paste the link (Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, YouTube), or a list of tracks (one per line), or import an M3U, CSV, Rekordbox or Traktor file.
My Spotify playlist is cut at 100 tracks.
That's a Spotify limit: only the first 100 tracks can be read. Complete the list with “Edit the list”, or import it through another service.
Why is a track “to check”?
Because there is a doubt: different version (remix, live, acoustic…), different artist or a very close title. You can decide with “I have it” or “I don't have it”: the decision is remembered.
FuviClan and Apple Music
How does the FuviClan check work?
TuneInspect searches each missing track on FuviClan with your own account, and tells you whether it's there and whether an Extended version exists. Connect to FuviClan from “My account”.
What does “not verified” mean?
The site didn't respond properly or the result is ambiguous. TuneInspect prefers to say nothing rather than be wrong: retry or check by hand.
The Apple Music playlist isn't created.
Check that you're connected to Apple Music (“My account”, Connections card) and that your Apple Music subscription is active. Reconnect if needed.
Subscription and billing
What are the prices?
€3.99 per month or €30 per year, no commitment. See the Pricing page.
How do I cancel?
In the app, “My account” then “Manage my subscription”. You keep Premium until the end of the paid period.
Where can I find my invoices?
In “Manage my subscription” (Stripe billing portal).
